Looking for a WorthPoint Alternative?

WorthPoint is a deep archive of historical sales — great for researching antiques and rare collectibles. FlipTip is built for a different moment: you're holding an item in a thrift store and need to know in seconds what it sells for now, what you'd make, and whether to buy it.

We make FlipTip. Facts about other tools come from their own websites and app store listings, checked October 2026 — sources at the bottom.

⚡ The short answer

Pick WorthPoint if you research antiques, art or rare auction pieces and need years of history and maker's marks. Pick FlipTip if you source everyday resale items in person and want a photo-based price, your profit after fees and a buy-or-skip answer for a third of the price.

When WorthPoint is the better choice

  • You price antiques, fine art, militaria or rare pieces that sell a few times a year — you need the long history and the auction-house records.
  • You identify pottery, silver or porcelain by maker's marks. WorthPoint's Marks library is the reference for that.
  • You research at a desk rather than decide in a store aisle.

When FlipTip is the better choice

  • You source in person and need an answer in seconds, from a photo, while the item is in your hand.
  • You flip everyday items — electronics, clothing, toys, kitchenware, tools — where recent sales matter more than ten-year history.
  • You want the decision done for you: real sold prices, profit after the marketplace's fees, the most you should pay and how fast it sells.
  • You also want to list: FlipTip writes the listing and, on the Flipper plan, publishes it to eBay.

Free ways to check sold prices

Whatever tool you choose, it helps to know the free sources: eBay's "Sold Items" filter shows about the last 90 days of sales, and sellers with Seller Hub can see up to 3 years in eBay's Product Research. PriceCharting covers video games and trading cards; 130point shows sports-card sales including the accepted Best Offer price.

FAQ

Is there a free alternative to WorthPoint?

For recent sales, yes: eBay's Sold Items filter is free and covers about 90 days, and FlipTip's Free plan gives you an AI estimate from a photo — with real sold prices during the 30-day trial. For long historical records and auction-house results, there isn't a free equivalent to WorthPoint's archive.

How much does WorthPoint cost?

WorthPoint's website lists one plan, All Access, at $29.99 a month or $305.90 a year, with a 7-day free trial (checked October 2026). Its iPhone app sells separate in-app plans.

Does FlipTip have historical prices like WorthPoint?

No — FlipTip focuses on what an item sells for now: recent completed sales and current listings, turned into a price, your profit and a buy-or-skip verdict. For decades of auction history, WorthPoint is the specialist.

Can I use both?

Many resellers do: FlipTip for fast decisions while sourcing, WorthPoint for the occasional rare antique that needs deeper research.
