Claude

Open Connectors in Claude's settings, choose Add custom connector, name it FlipTip and paste the server address. Then turn FlipTip on in a chat from the tools menu.

ChatGPT

Add FlipTip as a custom app (connector) with the server address — ChatGPT lists this under its apps and connectors settings (developer mode). Then pick FlipTip in a chat.

Where do the prices come from?

From the same data as FlipTip's public pages: completed eBay.com sales in US dollars, each checked to be the exact item (Best Offer sales left out), with the dates of the sales. Every answer links its page on fliptip.ai.

Can it price an item from a photo?

No — the connector answers from FlipTip's published data only. Identifying an item from a photo, its own sold prices, the most to pay and a worth-it-or-skip verdict are what the FlipTip scanner does (free trial, no credit card).

What if an item isn't covered?

The assistant is told plainly that FlipTip has no published sold prices for it — nothing is made up.

Do I need a FlipTip account?

No. The connector is free and needs no sign-in.

What is stored?

Your questions are not stored. FlipTip counts how often each tool is used per day and which app called it (for example "Claude"), and uses your network address only to limit how many requests one address can send (kept as a hash, deleted within a day). See the privacy policy.
